About

Colette Willard (1992) was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California. Influenced by wild coastal landscapes and the ethereal artworks of her aunt Valerie Hammond, she has developed a painting style that is at once voyeuristic and diaristic. Through narrative and still life oil paintings, Colette seeks to explore the contours of intimacy and isolation.

Colette holds a Master of Arts in Divinity from the University of Chicago where she studied Islam. She is a self-taught painter and has taken classes in painting, woodworking, printmaking, and ceramics from local artists.

She currently resides in Chicago, IL.
